Information from a sign posted by the Lion’s Club at the cemetery is:

There was once a Flag Stop on the C & P Railroad at this point, known as “Stringers”.

When land was needed for a right of way, the C & P Railroad installed the stone fence around the cemetery, to insure the protection of its occupants.

Interred in this cemetery, are Beverly McGee (from Virginia) and his wife, Elizabeth Wayman McGee (from Maryland). They came to this area while at a young age. They were devote Baptists. They had ten children, including a son Obediah who was born here in 1820, and later married a Nancy Teal. They had a son, Daniel, who later moved to California.
